Jones Foundry Ball Holdbacks in Beeswax

Caring for the Beeswax finish
Beeswax is a traditional finish that has been used for centuries. Hot forged metal is dipped in natural beeswax and left to cool, which gives the metal a subtle, deep grey colour. The beeswax seal wears over time, so the holdbacks will need a fresh coat of pure natural beeswax every three to six months, applied with a soft, lint-free cloth, to keep the seal intact.
A Beeswax finish is not suitable for damp rooms such as bathrooms, or for outdoor use. Moisture will cause the metal to oxidise and rust.
